ARNOLD KEITH BINEGAR Arnold Keith Binegar, 40, of New Matamoras, O., Route 3, died Sept. 18, 1993 in Doctor’s Hospital at Columbus after an illness. He was born Sept. 19, 1952, in Marietta to Gale and Luella Boston Binegar. His home had been in California before coming to New Matamoras one year ago. He was a 1971 graduate of Frontier High School and a graduate of Pepperdine College.  He was a certified public accountant and had associate’s degrees in art and business management. He was working on an associate degree in corporate law. He was baptized in New Milford Baptist Church at Ravenna on April 14, 1963. He had formerly been employed by the food service at Marietta College and later by Burlington Industries, Citicorp Industrial Credit and Direct Delivery Trucking Co. He is survived by one brother Ronald Binegar of Marietta; one sister, Gayle Eddy of New Matamoras, Route 3; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Carrie V. Binegar Marietta Times NEWPORT — Carrie V. Binegar, 94, of Newport died at 4 a.m. Tuesday (June 16, 1998) at Heartland of Marietta. She was born July 7, 1903, in Schley, Washington County, to John A. and Martha Cummings Herlan. She was a lifelong resident of Washington County and was a former member of the Pine Ridge United Methodist Church. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, her home and her family. She is survived by three sons Merle Binegar and his wife, Eva, of Antioch, Orvil Binegar and his wife, Barbara, of Eureka, W.Va., and Lyle Binegar and his wife, Sandra, of Newport; two daughters, June Wigal and her husband, Carroll, of Marietta and Phyllis Bowersock and her husband, Lawrence, of Rinard Mills; 32 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Binegar, on Feb. 22, 1971; two sons, Kenneth and Furl Binegar; four daughters Delorace Thomas, Elwanda Congleton, Monna Bond and Patricia Lamp; one son-in-law, James E. Thomas; one daughter Verna Binegar; one grandson Jarod Binegar her parents; one sister, Bertha Bowersock two brothers, Joseph and Clyde Herlan; one stepsister Cora Goddard; and one stepbrother John O. Clarence W. Binegar February 22, 1971 Clarence W. Binegar, 79, Newport Rt., died at 12:52 pm. yesterday in Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born July 27, 1891, at Fay, a son of the late Conway and Mary Creighton Binegar, On March 21, 1920, he married Carrie Violia Herlan, who survives with four sons and six daughters: Kenneth. Binegar, Newport Rt. 1; Merle O. Binegar, Antioch; Orvil L. Binegar, Eureka, W. Va.; Lyle V. Binegar, Mrs. Monna S. Bond and Mrs. Patricia E. Lamp, all of Newport; Mrs. Delorace Thomas, Reno; Mrs. Elwanda Congleton, Marietta; Mrs. June A. Wigal, Virginia Beach, Va., and Mrs. Phyllis L. Bowersock, Rinard Mills. One son, Furl A. Binegar is deceased. There are 32 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Three brothers survive, Ervin Binegar, Marietta, William Binegar, Marietta Rt., and Wren Binegar, Matamoras. Friends may call at the funeral home. David D. Binegar October 1984 David Dean Binegar, 39, of Reno Star Route died at 8:15 p.m. Monday in University Hospital at Columbus following a lengthy illness. He was born Oct. 3, 1945, in Washington County to Elm and Marge Lane Binegar. He was a graduate of Lawrence High School and had been employed at Hadley Products Co. He was also a painter. Friends may call at the funeral home. D. Wayne Binegar Delbert Wayne Binegar, 28, of 116 Muskingum Drive died Sunday morning in an automobile accident. He was born Feb. 6, 1957, at Reno to Delbert L. Binegar and the late Julie Lightfritz Binegar. He had been employed at Archer Auto Parts. He had served three years in the U.S. Army, and was a member of the Ohio National Guard. He also was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose 1823, and attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He was married March 24, 1979, to Laurie J. Archer. He is survived by his wife; two children, Uriah Dawn and Lucas Wayne, both at home; his father, of Marietta; three brothers, Chester L. Binegar, Robert L. Binegar and Edward J. Binegar MAFJETIA — Ethel L. Binegar, 95, a former resident of 216 Kenwood St. died at 11:45 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 14. 1993) at The Arbors at Marietta She was born April 4, 1898, at Wingett Run to W. Larson and Melinda Hall Thomas. Her home had been at Marietta for most of her life. She was a member of the Sixth and Washington Streets Church of Christ She married John W. Binegar on June 19, 1918. He died Nov. 11, 1966. She also was receded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters. Elmer Binegar Marietta Times, January 1988 Elmer Binegar, 87, of Reno Star Route died at 9 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, in The Arbors at Marietta. He was born May 11, 1900, near Germantown, Washington County, to Melvin and Elizabeth Pierce Binegar. He had spent most of his life in the Dart community where he had been a painter. Emmett Binegar Emmett Binegar, 94, of New Matamoras Rt. 3 died at 5 p.m. Mon day in Christian Anchorage Nursing Home. He was born Jan, 5, 1887, in Lawrence Township to Melvin and Elizabeth Pierce Binegar. On June 14, 1912, he married Eliza Matheny. She died July 23, 1978. He had been an oil field worker and a pottery worker. He had resided all his life in Washington County. He is survived by five sons, Homer of Wellsville, Melvin and Clark of New Matamoras, Raymond of Macksburg and Carl of Akron; one daughter, Cora Van Wey of New Matamoras; 18 grandchildren: 37 great-grandchildren; nine great- great-grandchildren; one brother, Elmer of Reno Star Rt.; and two sisters, Ora Quick of Newell, W. James ‘Jim’ Russell Binegar Marietta Times NEWPORT — James “Jim”Russell Binegar, 61, of Newport died Saturday (March  27, 2004) at Riverside Hospital in Columbus. He was born March 16, 1943, in New Matamoras to Kenneth Russell and Verna Mae McPeek Binegar. He was a 1961 graduate of Lawrence High School. He moved to work at the Ford plant in Loraine, Ohio. He moved back to Newport in 1970. He owned and operated the Newport Quaker State Service Station. He later owned and operated Jim’s Used Cars in Newport. He was a member of Faith Gospel Church, originally Dart Gospel Church, and was a member of Parkersburg Labor Union Local 1085. Jarod Robert Binegar Jarod Robert Binegar, 5, of Newport, died Thursday night after the motorcycle he was riding collided with another vehicle in Newport according to the Washington Sheriff’s Department. He was born august 7, 1975 to Lyle and Sandra Binegar. He attended Newport Elementary School and the Church of Christ. His parents survive with four brothers, John, Jeff, Jamie and Shane, all of the home; grandmothers, Erma Holdren and Carrie Binegar of Newport. BOY, 5, KILLED IN CRASH A five-year-old Newport boy was killed Thursday night after the motorcycle he was riding collided with another vehicle to in Newport, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Department. Jerrod R. Binegar of Newport Rt. 1 was dead on arrival at Marietta Memorial Hospital, according to Joe Pickens, the hospital’s community relations director. The Pleasants County Emergency Squad transported Binegar to Memorial, according to the sheriff’s reports. Details of the accident were sketchy this morning. Sheriff Deputies were to question witnesses and other persons later today. The accident occurred on Poinciana Avenue in Newport between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m., according to the sheriff’s report. It was not know this morning how the accident occurred, but Binegar was riding a small motorcycle when it collided with a vehicle driven by Mary A. Fickeisen., 33 of Newport Rt. 1 the report said. Meda Fern Graham Binegar Meda Fern Graham Binegar, 88, of Marietta died at 7 p.m. Sunday (June 8, 1992) at 425 Sixth St. Mrs. Binegar was a member of the Church of Christ at Sixth and Washington streets. She was born Sept. 6, 1903, near Matamoras to Jeremiah and Isabell Worstell Graham. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Binegar; her parents; one son, M. Melvin Binegar Marietta Times NEW MATAJ — Melvin Binegar, 85, of New Matamoras Route 3 died Sunday evening (Oct. 17, 1999) at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born Sept. 12, 1914 in Schley, Washington County, to Emmett and Eliza Binegar, He had worked in the timber business for several years and was later employed in the plant of Broughton’s Dairy for 28 years until his retirement He spent all his life in Washington County. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. On Sept. 21, 1934, he married the former Edrie Ward who survives with three sons, Stanley Binegar and his wife, Rosalie of Cairo, W.Va., Russell Binegar and his wife, Norma, of Williamstown and Johnny Binegar and his wife, Nancy, of Bell’s Run, Newport; one daughter, Carolyn Cochran of New Matamoras; 10 grandchildren, 17 great and stepgreat-grandchi1dren, one sister, Cora Van Wey of New Matamoras; two brothers, Carl Binegar of Akron and Raymond Binegar of Whipple; and several nieces and nephews. Binegar March 5, 1976 Mrs. Margaret (Maggie) Binegar, 73, Dart, died at 2 a.m. today in Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born April 20, 1902, in Dart, a daughter of the late Norman and Fannie Lane Haught. She most of her life in Lawrence Twp. and was a member of Lawrence Baptist Church. On April 5, 1922, she was married to Wren A. Binegar, who survives with son and one Glenn A. Binegar, Devola, and Mrs. Mary Frances Hendershot, Whipple Rt. 1. There are five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and four brothers, Dale Haught, Deucher, Ray, Marietta Rt. 6, Forrest, Reno Star Rt., and Arthur, Dart. Three sisters are deceased. Binegar Merle Henry Binegar, 64, of Maplewood Drive, St. Marys departed this life Jan. 26, 2005, after a brief battle with colon cancer. He was born April 16, 1940, at home in Ludlow Township, Washington County. Mr. Binegar was a 1958 graduate of’ Lawrence High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1959-1963 in Plattsburg, N.Y. Upon completion of his military service he returned home and began working for the Union Carbide Corporation in Sistersville. He retired April 1998 after 35 years of service as a lab oratory technologist. He moved to Pleasants County in 1968, where he resided until his death. He was a member of the Belmont Volunteer Fire Department from 1970-1975. He was baptised in the Catholic faith in April 1988 at St. John’s Catholic Church, St. Marys. Survivors include his mother, Gladys (Hesson) Binegar of New Matamoras; his wife of 40 years, Carolyn (Burer) Binegar of St. Marys; one son, Michael of St. Marys; one daughter and son-in law, Michele and Phillip Soto of Montclair, Va.; four grandchildren, Alexandria and Robert Binegar of Shultz and Isaac and Gabriel Soto of Montclair, Va.; one sister, Ruth Schneider of New Matamoras; three brothers, Donald and Sue Binegar Jr. of Sistersville, Lawrence and Charlotte Binegar of Marietta and John and Pam Binegar of Lowell; one sister-in-law, David and Barbara (Burer) McCarty of Lowell; one brother-in-law, Larry and Barbie Burer of Warner, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. Ralph Donald Binegar Marietta Times, 1989 Ralph Donald Binegar, 79, of Rt. 6, Morris Loop, Marietta, died at 7:34 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 15, in The Arbors at Marietta.            He was born Aug. 8, 1910, in Hanford, Calif., to Clem and Jane Patterson Binegar. He was a member of the Sixth and Washington Street Church of Christ and was owner and operator of Binegar’s General Store at Wingett Run. He operated his store for 27 years retiring in 1973, when he sold the store. Before owning his store, he was employed 10 years by American Bridge Co. at Ambridge, Pa. He attended Marietta High School and was a charter member of the Muskingum Volunteer Fire Department. He served on the board of Reno Water and Sewer District for 10 years; was a member of the Marietta Senior Citizens Club and a member of the Retired Senior Volunteer pro gram for several years. He is survived by his wife, Audrey Cline Binegar; one daughter, Mrs. James (Connie) Graham of Columbus; two grandsons; one grand daughter; one foster grandson; two brothers, Roscoe of Marietta and Forest of Williamstown; and one sister, Mabel Hackathorn of Marietta. Stella Irene Binegar Marietta Times Stella Irene Binegar, 69, of Marietta Route 5 died at 4:10 a.m. Tuesday (Aug. 19, 1997) at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born Dec. 15, 1927, in Washington County to George arid Bertha Hood Hayes. Her home had been in Lawrence Township. She attended Lawrence High School and had been employed at the Washington County Home as a nurse’s aide. She had also worked in private homes in this area as a caregiver. Theresa Katherine Binegar Marietta Times LOWELL — Theresa Katherine Binegar, 77, of Lowell Route 2 died at 2:05 p.m. Friday (Sept. 28, 01) in New Orleans, La., after a brief illness. She was born May 25, 1924, in Newport to Earnest and Helen Stump Valentine. She had lived in Lowell since 1957. She had been a nurse, working at Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Lowell; the Catholic Women’s Club, where she was a past president; Third Order of St. Frances; and St. Vincent de Paul Society. She was involved in total ministry, R.C.I.A. Cursilla, Renew, was a Eucharist minister and helped with Meals on Wheels. She was also past president of the local chapter of L.P.N.O.A. Verna Mae Binegar Marietta Times MARIETI’A — Verna Mae Binegar, 68, of Marietta Route 4, a former resident of  Newport Route 1, died at 3:23 p.m. Thursday (March 2, 1995) at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born May 15, 1926, at Sheet’s Run, Grandview Township, to Gordon and Lulu Hutchison McPeek. She had spent her early life in Grandview Township and attended New Matamoras schools. She was a born again Christian and was a member of the Faith Gospel Church, formerly Dart Gospel Church, and had been a Sunday school teacher in the kindergarten department for 25 years. She attended the O’Neill Day Care Center and found enjoyment in the activities program there. She is survived by four sons, James Russell Binegar and his wife, Nancy, of Newport Route 1, Donald Lee Binegar of Newport Route 1, David Bryan Binegar and his wife, Kathy, of Newport Route 1, and Jerry Dean Binegar and his wife, Karen, of Newport Route 1; five daughters, Shirley Ann Hamilton and Maria Galatea Binegar, both of Marietta Route 6, Marilyn Dione Mason and her husband, Ronald Eugene Sr., of Marietta Route 4, with whom she had been making her home recently, Cheryl Janice Thomas and her husband, Cecil, of Newport Route 1, and Kyla Maye Kidd and her husband, James, of Marietta; 18 grandchildren; 11 great- grandchildren; two brothers, Dean McPeek of East Liverpool and Gordon “Junior” McPeek of Newport Route 1; two sisters, Kathleen Binegar of New Matamoras Route 3 and Wanda Jean Hammatt of Belmont, W.Va.; a number of nieces and nephews; and her mother-in-law, Carrie Binegar of Newport Route 1. On March 14, 1943, she married Kenneth Russell Binegar, who died Sept. 30, 1972. Also preceding her in death are her parents; and three brothers, Harry McPeek, Truman McPeek and Marvin McPeek. Services are 2 p.m. Monday at the Calvary Community Church in Belpre with Pastor Ken Fullerton officiating. Burial is in East Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call from noon Saturday until noon on Monday at McClure-Schafer Funeral Home in Marietta, and one hour prior to the services Monday at the church. Wilda Binegar May 16, 1980 Mrs. Wilda Binegar, 60, of Silver Lake died Friday morning in Akron City Hospital. She was born June 18, 1919, in New Matamoras to the late Everett and  __?ttie McCall Holdren. Her husband,  __?rl Binegar, survives, along with a son, Gilbert of Diamond; a sister, Mrs. Wilma Taylor of Brady Lake; three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. She had lived in the Stowe area for past 40 years. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the McClure-Schafer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Parr Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon Sunday until the hour service.
